Private Lessons
Kalamazoo ARTisans is a co-op pottery studio and some of our members will teach private pottery classes. A 2 hour handbuilding lesson costs $85, a 2-3 hour wheel throwing lesson costs $95-all supplies, firing and glazing of the pottery made is included. As this is a private lesson, the day and time is arranged by the teacher. We aren't able to teach children unless their parents are also present.

Private Events
Our studio can also host private events of 3 or more people. Wheel throwing events are limited to 3 and a handbuilding event can accommodate up to 10. A 50% deposit is required to book a private event with the balance paid at the lesson.

                       Week 5-Combination pots 1

                       Week 7-Students choice
                       Week 8-Glazing
                       Week 9-Finish up, pot luck, show & tell
                 wet clay work must be completed by week 7
            Open Studio night: Tuesday 6-8pm  -   monitored by ARTisans members 
Provided: grogless cone 5 white clay from West Michigan Clay---25lb bag/student, additional clay will be $25/25lb.  A selection of studio glazes will be available for finishing your pots. Materials needed by student: pottery sponge, pin tool, rubber rib---beginner packs can be purchased on line at Michael's, the WMU bookstore or West Michigan Clay Supply
   Tuition - $300    Class size is limited to 6 participants
