The first pottery class I took was very hard but so fun. As I continued various classes I learned welding, pottery, drawing, precious metal clay jewelry, watercolor painting, then pottery called me back. Along with high fire, I have been exploring with Red Earthenware for the last six years. The color of the clay and mason stains are so interesting and fun. I am now doing mid range cone 5-6, it's learning a new firing process with different clay and glazes and it is fun too!
There are many different forms of art that I enjoy. What interests me most about clay is seeing what my hands and soul can express. Many times I enjoy what comes together and sometimes it’s like what was I thinking? This art form of clay drives and feeds my soul like no other. My pots can be seen and purchased at my co-op studio at the Park Trades Center in downtown Kalamazoo Michigan and at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts(KIA) annual Holiday Sale.
